Yes, they're very nice but won't they fall out of my hair? Joshua Cartwright explains what we've done to ensure your message stays where you put it!

So you've bought yourself some self-expression in gold - nice! But a question comes up in your mind - how can I be sure they'll stay on? I'm Joshua Cartwright, the inventor of 'Hair My Words' and I'd like to answer that!

First, you need to consider your hair braid or locs. Are they full enough to fill the cylinder? It helps, because each cylinder has 9 little gold 'teeth' inside which create some drag once the hair is pressing against it. Micro braids are not really suitable for these cylinders although there is a way you can wear them using that hair... read on...

We invented something called the 'trumpet pin' It used friction to stay in and passed a peg through the cylinder and the hair.

We started to promote these in some of the Caribbean Islands and the feedback was that women would want something more secure. So I invented the 'lock and key'.

This is an artistic rendering of it working - you can see the picture in the post profile. Once the key is locked it's very unlikely to come 'unlocked' - and this is supplied with all precious metal cylinders.

We hope to hair your words!
